Denver Public Schools provides PREP Academy students with DPS-RTD bus passes at no cost to families. Students that do not qualify for digital bus passes, will be provided with individual daily passes by PREP. Please keep in mind that these RTD Passes are non-transferable, meaning they cannot be used for any other student.

Please Follow The Steps Below to Receive Your Monthly Mobile RTD Tickets at No Cost to You

(Students MUST use their DPS email address)

  1. Download the RTD MyRide app by visiting the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Click on Account on the main app screen.
  3. Create a new account on the app using your school email address and choose your own password.
  4. It could take several days for your monthly pass to appear in the wallet section of your app. Once your first ticket arrives, the following tickets will appear at the beginning of the month.
  5. Prior to boarding a bus or a train:
    • Open the RTD MyRide app
    • Log into your account
    • Go to the wallet and activate your pass
    • Show your pass to the fare inspector of bus operator

DPS-RTD Pass Tracking

  1. Transportation eligible students are coded as such in Infinite Campus using the parameters established and accepted by the School Board.
  2. The eligibility data is entered by Student Services not Transportation Services
  3. Each school runs an “eligibility report” each month from Infinite Campus (IC) to identify who their eligible students are.
    1. Schools can also confirm student eligibility via the “RTD Pass Eligibility” under the “DPS Transportation” tab in IC.
  4. Each school enters the appropriate data into IC “RTD Pass Tracking” tab for each student who received a pass each month.
  5. Transportation Services will run audit reports monthly holding each school accountable for issuing passes to only those students who are transportation eligible.

Eligible high school students can now download the RTD MyRide app to receive a monthly pass straight on their phone. The mobile tickets are preferable to paper tickets, so please download the app if you are able. Click the links below for instructions on how to get your mobile tickets.
